The first thing we did was start by sizing up our cuts. We began by making our cuts then by finishing the fabrication on your gorgeous slabs...

 

  
   
We get the last slab cut and placed, just a little fabrication left to do now, then we can get going on the splash...

Getting the Denshield underlayment installed on the raised foundation portion of the floor, Corly in the forefront with James working on the steps,(with Cody in the background)...
...so we ran into our first set of serious problems today, the slab is in horrible shape, unfortunately the previous installer left the wooden forms in the cement and consequently the slab has numerous cracks surrounding it. I have leveled and sanded the slab to bring it up to code and have continued to set the tile.
These are the areas that we leveled to bring the slab up to workable conditions...all things considered, it could've been worse...
...here is a view of the corrections in the slab, as you can see we were running into different problems, the slab is high in some areas and low in others...

...finally we get to set some tile, after sanding and filling the slab yesterday, it pays off today with a nice level surface to work on...
...the travertine really sets off the gold flake in the granite...
...czech out some of the fun cuts that were made around the electrical outlets...
Once we moved the pool table we found plenty of other issues with the slab, namely cracks and swells...
this is the belly in the floor on the right side of the island...
...and this is the belly in the left side of the island, they were both pretty bad but this side was the worste...
